The flat and fast course runs along the banks of Brush Creek and goes through the heart of the Country Club Plaza! The Plaza 10K benefits Kids TLC, a local organization whose mission is to provide opportunities that transforms kids and families in crisis while ensuring a safe environment. Enjoy live music, great food, a high quality technical shirt and a great finisher's medal after you set a new PR at the Plaza 10K! Food and Fun. Participants in the Plaza 10K will enjoy a variety of great food and beverage options provided by Kansas City area restaurants, together with live music, in the post event area just north of Brush Creek at Central Street and Ward Parkway.
The Plaza 10K course is a flat and fast USATF certified course that runs along the banks of Brush Creek and through the heart of the Country Club Plaza. The race will be chip timed using the IPICO electronic timing chip that is to be attached to the participant's shoe laces. Plaza 10K participants will be able to take advantage of two aid stations along the course, at approximately the 2 mile mark and the 4 mile mark, each station offering water and Gatorade. The course will be well marked with mile markers and turn signs. View the course map here. The untimed two mile fun run/walk will also run along the banks of Brush Creek and is designed for participants of all ages who want to enjoy a non-competitive run/walk that supports Kids TLC. The Kids Run is for kids eight and under and is approximately one block in length.
The Plaza 10K Run/Walk event begins with race day packet pickup and registration at 6:00am and is followed by the 10K race at 7:30am, the 2 mile fun run at 7:50am and the Kids Run at approximately 9:30am. Food and beverages will be available in the post race area beginning at 8:00am.

Plaza 10K participants will receive a technical shirt in gender specific sizing. This high quality moisture wicking shirt will likely become a mainstay in your training wardrobe and will let everyone know that you participated in one of Kansas City's premier running events! The two mile participants will get gender specific sized cotton shirts.
Packet pickup will be at Garry Gribble's Running Sports inside Ward Parkway Center, 8600 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64114, on Saturday, September 14 from 11 - 6p.m. and packets may also be picked up on race morning from 6 to 7:15 a.m. at the start/finish area at Ward Parkway and Central, near the Zoom toy store. Participants will be able to register at packet pickup and pick up packets for others.
The Plaza 10K is within walking distance of a number of hotels in and around the Country Club Plaza area, Kansas City's most visited shopping and entertainment area.
